Dushanbe Model
United Nations

Dushanbe Model United Nations (DMUN) is a Model UN initiative based in Dushanbe, giving young people a formal setting to debate, negotiate and draft resolutions.

What is DMUN?

A simulation of the United Nations, run in Dushanbe.

DMUN gives students the floor. Delegates are assigned a state or role, research its position, and defend it through formal debate in committee — the same sequence of speeches, caucuses, amendments and votes used in real multilateral diplomacy.

Committees

Simulated UN bodies with distinct mandates and scope.

Procedure

Formal rules of procedure chaired by a trained dais.

Resolutions

Draft documents negotiated, amended and voted on.

Delegates

Students representing states and roles in committee.

Why DMUN?

Skills that outlast the session.

Every part of a DMUN session is designed to build capability, not just experience.

01

Real diplomatic procedure

Sessions follow formal rules of procedure, from roll call and moderated caucus to voting on draft resolutions.

02

Public speaking under pressure

Delegates argue a national position in front of a committee, learning to be precise, calm and persuasive.

03

Research and policy writing

Position papers and working papers train delegates to read primary sources and write clause by clause.

04

A network of peers

Delegates, chairs and organisers work side by side across schools and universities in Dushanbe.

Registration

Registration opens September 20.

Be ready to take your seat at DMUN.
